SUPPORTED ATHLETES

As part of our marketing activities Ed & Phil are pleased to be able to provide some support to four exceptional athletes.

The first of these is Mimi Anderson

We first helped Mimi with her world record attempt in October 2010, supplying her with some products as well as providing practical support with logistics and administration. We continued to provide support to Mimi in 2011 and are doing so again in 2012.

Details of Mimi's world record attempt and her other challenges can be found on
www.marvellousmimi.com

The second is Angie Sadler.

Angie competed for England in the Commonwealth Mountain and Ultra Distance Championships in 2009 and was part of the team that won the gold medal in the 100 kilometre race. Angie represented England in a 24 hour race in 2010 and finished first lady and fourth overall. Angie was sidelined in 2011 due to an operation to correct a persistent foot problem, but is now almost fully recovered. She expects to be competing for England again at the end of the year. We continue to help Angie with some of her travel and accommodation costs.

The third, was a new addition in 2011, our very own Phillip Howells.

Phillip has, on a number of occasions in the past, won his age group category at various races. Ed decided to set him the challenge of winning his age group (Over 60) in the UK Ultra-running Championships. Ed & Phil helped with race entry fees and travel. Phillip managed 3rd place in his age group and aims to improve on that in 2012

You can monitor Phillip's progress via his blog.

The fourth is Dave Smith a member of the British Bobsleigh team.

Dave currently lives in Derby. He trains 6 days a week, sometimes twice a day. His training is made up of a mixture of weight training, focusing on strength and power development, track work that looks at speed development and plyometric ability, along with general whole body conditioning that prepares him for the huge forces and pressure that the sport of Bobsleigh inflicts upon the body. Dave is aiming to compete in the 2014 Winter Olympics.
